Witte Museum

While the Witte Museum features hands-on exhibits of Texas history, and anthropology that offers permanent exhibits that include dinosaur skeletons, cave drawings, wildlife dioramas, and even some live animals, they also offer an insite to natural science. Several historic homes are reconstructed on the campus, which features the the very popular H-E-B Science Treehouse.

The Institute of Texan Cultures, part of the University of Texas at San Antonio, is a 182,000-square-foot museum featuring 65,000 square feet of interactive exhibits and displays that tell the stories of Texans. The museum explores the contributions of 28 different ethnic groups toward the settlement of the state and to engage lifelong learners in the understanding and celebration of Texas cultural heritage.

The San Antonio Symphony was founded in 1939 by conductor Max Reiter. San Antonio civic leaders enlisted him to conduct a "demonstration concert" in the Sunken Garden Theater at Brackenridge Park on June 12, 1939.
Reiter's leadership and inspiration resulted in a November 24, 1939, inaugural concert presented by the newly incorporated Symphony Society of San Antonio. The San Antonio Symphony now plays in the restored Majestic Theater.

Spaced along the river south of downtown San Antonio are the four missions constructed by the Spanish that comprise The San Antonio Missions National Historical Park.

The four mission churches within San Antonio Missions National Historical Park are active catholic parishes, and hold regular services. They are open to park visitors during park hours, except for special services, such as weddings and funerals.

The Bexar County Courthouse is the largest and oldest continuously operated historic courthouse in Texas. Designed in the distinctive Romanesque Revival style by renowned architect, James Riely Gordon, its cornerstone was laid in 1892; and the grand Courthouse, constructed of pink granite and sandstone was completed in 1897.
